Alaska Quakes Baseball

Terms of use

The ground rules for this website. They cover the website and nothing else — playing baseball is covered by the paperwork the club and the league ask you to sign.

In effect from October 6, 2026

The short version

  • This is the website of Alaska Quakes Baseball, a youth travel baseball program in Anchorage run by Alaska Quakes, a nonprofit organization.
  • It is an information site with two forms on it. It does not take registrations, sell anything, or process payments — those happen on other companies' sites.
  • Please be accurate in the forms, and only send a child's details if you are their parent or guardian.
  • Schedules and times change. Always confirm with a coach before driving anywhere.
  • Nothing on this page has anything to do with playing baseball. Participation is covered by the league's and the club's own signed paperwork, not by a website.

The rest of this page is the detail.

Who these terms are with

These terms are between you and Alaska Quakes, a nonprofit organization based in Anchorage, Alaska, which runs the program and this website as Alaska Quakes Baseball (“the club”, “we”, “us”). They cover your use of this website. By using the site you are agreeing to them, and if you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

If you are under 18, please read these with a parent or guardian. The forms on this site are meant to be filled in by an adult.

What this website is, and what it is not

This site exists to tell families about the program, let you ask about a tryout, and let you get in touch. That is the whole of it.

Several things people reasonably expect a club site to do happen somewhere else entirely:

  • League registration is handled by Far North Youth Sports on their own website. Requesting a tryout here does not register your player for anything.
  • Club dues, if the club is collecting them, are paid through a separate payment provider. We do not handle card details on this site.
  • Team gear, if a store is open, is sold, taken payment for, and shipped by a separate store. We do not hold stock or fulfill orders.
  • The live schedule, when it is switched on, is published by GameChanger.

When you follow a link to any of those, you are on someone else's website under their terms, and your dealings are with them. We are not a party to a purchase or a registration you make elsewhere, and we cannot cancel, refund, or amend one.

Using the forms

Two things we ask of you:

  • Give us accurate information. We will act on what you tell us, and a wrong phone number or email mostly means we cannot get back to you.
  • Only send a child's details if you are that child's parent or guardian, or you have their parent or guardian's permission. The tryout form asks for a child's name and age group and is meant to be completed by an adult who is responsible for them.

Sending a tryout request is not a registration, an offer, or a guarantee of a place on a roster. It starts a conversation. We will do our best to reply to everyone who writes to us, but a volunteer-run club cannot promise a reply or a particular timescale.

Please do not send sensitive information through the forms — medical details, financial details, anything of that nature. If something like that is relevant, say that it is and we will find a better way to talk about it.

Things not to do here

Please do not:

  • Use the forms to send spam, advertising, abuse, or anything unlawful.
  • Submit forms automatically, or try to get around the spam check.
  • Scrape, copy, or bulk-collect the content of this site.
  • Try to break into, overload, or probe the site or the services behind it.
  • Pretend to be someone else, or submit another family's details without their say-so.

If someone does any of this, we may block them from the site and report it where that is warranted.

Schedules, times, and places change

We try to keep this site right, but a youth sports season moves. Games are rained off, fields are reassigned, practice times shift, and age groups form and fold. Anything on this site may be out of date by the time you read it.

Please treat tryout dates, game times, and field locations here as a guide and confirm with a coach before making a trip. If the live schedule is switched on, it is published by GameChanger and we do not control what it shows.

Playing baseball is not governed by this page

This is worth saying plainly, because website terms are often used to pretend otherwise.

These terms cover the use of a website. They are not a waiver, a release, a consent form, or a medical authorization, and nothing here limits anyone’s rights in connection with an injury. Taking part in tryouts, practices, and games is covered by the separate paperwork the club and the league ask you to complete, by the league’s rules, and by the law — not by a page you scrolled past on the internet.

If you have a question about what the club asks families to sign before a player takes the field, ask us at coachbilly@alaskaquakes.com and we will tell you.

Money

This website never takes a payment. Where the site shows a price or links to a payment page, the amount, the transaction, and the receipt are between you and whoever takes the money — the payment provider for dues, the store for gear, Far North Youth Sports for league registration.

Prices and descriptions shown here can be wrong or out of date; the ones on the store or payment page at the moment you pay are the real ones. Questions about a charge, a refund, a return, or a delivery go to whoever took the payment in the first place.

If you have paid the club dues and something has gone wrong, write to us at coachbilly@alaskaquakes.com and we will sort it out — we would always rather do that than have a family out of pocket.

Other people’s websites and services

We link to other organizations because they are genuinely useful: the league, the schedule, a store, a payment page. Linking to them is not an endorsement of everything they do, and we have no control over their content, their availability, or how they handle your information. Their terms and their privacy policies apply once you are there.

The club’s name, logo, and photographs

The Alaska Quakes name, the badge, the photographs, and the text on this site belong to Alaska Quakes or to whoever made them for us. Please do not reuse them for anything else without asking.

You are very welcome to link to this site, and to print or share a page for your own use as a family.

If a photograph on this site includes your player and you would rather it did not, email us at coachbilly@alaskaquakes.com and we will take it down. We will not ask you to justify the request.

What you send us stays yours

Anything you send through a form remains yours. You are giving us permission to read it and act on it for the thing you got in touch about, and nothing more. We are not taking a license to publish it, and we will not use your words, your name, or your player’s name in anything public without asking you first.

What happens to your information is set out in full in our privacy policy.

The site is provided as it is

We run this site as a volunteer-run club, not as a service you are paying for. It may be unavailable, it may contain mistakes, and features may change or go away. We do not promise that it will always be up, always be correct, or always do what you need.

To the extent the law allows, the site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind.

Limits on what we are responsible for

To the extent the law allows, the club is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising out of your use of this website — for example a wasted trip because a schedule on this page was out of date, or a message that did not reach us because a form was down.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and for fraud. Some states and countries do not allow certain exclusions, in which case those exclusions simply do not apply to you and the rest of this page still stands.

This section is about the website. It has nothing to do with playing baseball — see the section above.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska, and the courts there are where any dispute about this website would be dealt with. We are an Anchorage club serving Anchorage families, so this is unlikely to be a surprise to anyone.

If you are reading this from somewhere with laws that give you rights you cannot sign away, you keep those rights.

Changes, and the odd clause that does not hold

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Every version is kept in the website’s revision history, so what this page said on a given day is a matter of record.

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, that part is treated as removed and the rest of it continues to apply.
